Ben Nevis Mountain is the highest point of the British Isle, as much as 1345 m above sea level, and therefore it was perfect for the idea of 19-year-old Ben Conway.

Being an applicant for the School of Communication Arts in Brixton, he drew attention to the action - to get a preferential scholarship it was necessary to "do something wild, crazy about what you like to do." And since the young man has 13 years of love to wander through the mountains, hills, he decided to make the ascent. In ladies' shoes with a 13-cm heel.
The optimal combination, argued Ben, is a large and famous mountain, an unusual appearance for publishing achievements, certain difficulties that it will be interesting to overcome. In fact, he never climbed to the top and really did not know what was waiting for him. And, frankly, it was all a spontaneous idea in the circle of young people, and not a well-thought-out plan, so the argument was invented in hindsight. Therefore, the problems were not long in coming.

Uneven stones instead of a reliable trail, which also became slippery right away - Ben considered the weather forecast to be superfluous and repeatedly wet in the rain on the way up. He was knocked down by the wind, whose speed exceeded 25 m / s, and it turned out to be very, very difficult to balance on uncomfortable heels. Damned footwear also broke halfway, because of what I had to tie the remnants tightly to the foot. The finish came at an altitude of 900 m - it was impossible to continue in such conditions.
Although Ben didn’t get to the top on his heels, his idea was a success - the guy got a scholarship and even became a little famous. Charities from among those who collect money for shoes for poor children in the third world countries are interested in his act. “Attracting money for good purposes is a good thing, and if I can do something else fun to help, then why not?” Ben says.
